Hello beautifuls! Thanks to everyone who came out to our first Bass Music Sessions last week at Monarch, TBMA, Ultraviolet and Kimba all killed it; ie. the music was phenomenal all night. It wasn't packed but it was a good start to a new event and I hope to keep growing it! I love Bass Music!
Speaking of Bass Music, I hope you all kept your Memorial Day weekends open for our very first Opulent Temple campout in association with our friends at The Steampunk Saloon. BOOMTOWN is 1880s themed and will be held next weekend May 24-27 in Apple Valley, CA and will be an amazing experience with a dope line-up of artists including The Crystal Method, DJ Rap, DJ Dan, and of course your favorite OT DJs; as well as live performers, Vaudeville variety show, clown troupe (eek!), magic show, and much more. And because you're special and receiving this email from me, you can get a discount $99 ticket with promo code DJICON. Let's start off the summer with a BOOM...BOOMtown that is :)
On an unrelated note, we are now at almost 80% of our Team Tamo fundraising goal for our charity campaign for Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Major thanks if you donated to my campaign last and/or this year. Tamo and I would really appreciate your support to get us to the finish line of the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon and help us champion the cause to find a cure. Please go to our donation page for more info and to sponsor us! Your karma will be repaid tenfold! Go Team Tamo!

ICON @ Opel presents Stanton Warriors on 4/26
Hello my pretty bass heads! How I've missed you... I've been so busy with music/work/fitness life, I haven't had time to write. 2013 is flying by at a ridiculous pace and so much has already happened, from DJ-landia to adventures in China, Spain, Morocco to juggling the many facets of my crazy world which I've summed up with the hastag: #ICONlife. Since I post almost everything on social media; if you follow my pages, I'm sure you've been up-to-date on my escapades. I update my Facebook more often than my website, so please "like" me and add me and stay in touch!
Just wanted to let you know about the show I'm throwing this Friday, May 10 with Opel Productions at one of my favorite venues, Monarch. We are starting a new series of events called Bass Music Sessions and bringing out the talented TBMA (The Bolivian Marching Affair) from Boston/NYC, on the legendary Play Me Records label, for their San Francisco debut! I've been following these guys for awhile now; every track they put out is phenomenal and induces serious bass face. Hope you guys can make it out to cause some Friday night ruckus with us. Presales are just $10 and we just got word that there are FREE vodka drinks from 9-10. Let's get this party started right!
On an unrelated note, I wanted to let you know that I am running the Napa to Sonoma Half Marathon on July 21 to raise funds for the same charity I championed last year, Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America. Major thanks if you donated to my campaign last year, because of you I raised over $8500 for this really great charity - amazing! I would really appreciate if you could support me and my good friend Tamo, who was my honoree last year. She is now recovered from her harrowing life-long experience with Ulcerative Colitis and is running the race with me as Team Tamo. Please go to our donation page for more info and to sponsor us! Your karma will be strong! Go Team Tamo!
Full party details are below, I hope to see you twerkin' it and workin' it on the dancefloor! Until we meet again, my friends... love you long time!
Yours Truly,

We are proud to bring out TBMA (The Bolivian Marching Affair, Play Me Records - Boston/NYC) for their first performance in San Francisco. This talented trio exploded onto the Bass Music scene in 2011 and quickly were favorited by artists like Skrillex, Kill the Noise, Feed Me, Reid Speed, and many other big names in the industry. Their distinctive bass-heavy sound and superior production skills landed them onto the top charting label, Play Me Records as well as remixes for a number of platinum recording artists. We can't wait to hear them destroy the dancefloor at Monarch!

Join Team Tamo in Finding A Cure
Dear Friends, Family and Loving Community,
Last year, with your generous donations and support, Connie completed the Kona Half Marathon on June 24, 2012 and raised over $8500 for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and surpassed our goal of $6500! She took on this cause to honor her dear friend, Tamo, who suffered tremendously for many years with Ulcerative Colitis. She hated standing by helplessly while her wonderful, undeserving friend went through relentless painful flare-ups, ineffective treatments with horrible side-effects, costly hospital stays with limited insurance coverage; and vowed to do her part in the cause to find a cure.
Tamo eventually went through a series of surgeries last year and thanks to the amazing medical team at UCSF she is finally able to live a more normal life uninfringed by chronic illness. Now that she is recovered and determined to get healthy, we are entering the Napa To Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon on July 21, 2013 as a team and committed to raising at least $5600 for CCFA. We've already started training for the race. This will be Tamo's victory over Colitis!
Will you support us in this worthy cause and take part in our mission to help find a cure so someday others won't have to suffer as Tamo did? We would appreciate any donation, big or small. All major breakthroughs for Crohn's and Colitis have been funded by this nationally top-ranked charity and $0.82 per every dollar is spent towards research in finding a cure.Your contribution is tax-deductible and if your company matches charitable contributions, please include matching forms with your donation. Each sponsor who donates will receive a Team Tamo wristband! Thank you so much for your support.
We dedicate these 13.1 miles to the millions of people suffering with Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis and to the victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy.
GO TEAM TAMO!
With Love,
Connie & Tamo

Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are collectively known as inflammatory bowel diseases. Crohn's disease is a chronic disorder that causes inflammation of the digestive or gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Ulcerative colitis only affects the colon. Both are painful and debilitating. An estimated 1.4 million Americans have these diseases (1 in 200 people); however, many more suffer in silence. There is no cure yet.
ICONtact: Masquerotica and happy birthday to me!

It's 3 days until my birthday... but who's counting? ;) I always make it a point to celebrate my birthday each year since I never was able to as a kid; just making up for lost time! As I approach my 32nd year, I'm realizing that I've now been in the music industry for half of my life (omg so old!). When I first started this crazy journey, I was still in high school, working part-time, training everyday as a contortionist and going to underground raves at long-lost legendary SF venues like Homebase, Dimension 7, Stevenson Alley, Acme Warehouse. I chose DJing over circus life, got my own turntables, spent all my money on records and practiced for hours each day before I started to get bookings opening at underground raves, sometimes even before the doors opened. I look back on this and am extremely grateful for how far I've come, how many amazing friends I've met along the way and where this journey has taken me - literally all around the world. Oh yes, I love birthdays! And I'm really looking forward to the festivities this weekend. On Saturday, join me for a second year in a row playing a birthday set at Masquerotica Costume Ball at the Concourse Exhibition Center. Headlining this year is the Stanton Warriors! Maybe the birthday girl will get to let out her inner freak. For those of you who haven't already gotten pre-sales, contact me to get on my half-off discount list. Sunday will be spent at a lovely little oyster shucking picnic with close friends up north. Then on my actual birthday on Monday, I get to do one of my favorite things in the world. Can you guess what that is? I bet you'll never guess... it's horseback riding :)

YAY! My favorite time of year is here. October always means Indian Summer in San Francisco, Decompression, my birthday and Halloween all rolled up into one busy action-packed month. After a brief summer (Burning Man) break, it's business as usual with getting back in the studio with Ground_Control, we have a wicked new tune that just needs some vocals and cooking up another fun bootleg on the heels of our "Rhythm is a Dancer" hit earlier this summer. I'm also meticulously working on a long overdue new mix for my Weapon of Choice series; the results of my recent Facebook poll let me know that you guys want to hear more Breaks... ask and you shall receive! Also in the works is another Illeven Eleven mini-tour and training for another half marathon in November. Music + Fitness 4 LIFE!
This is a massive weekend in San Francisco with Decom, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, America's Cup, and America's favorite waste of tax dollars: Fleet Week. On top of that, everyone is in a frenzy because the Giants and the A's are in the MLB playoffs for the first time since 1989, which is also when we had our last major earthquake!
Gonna keep it short this week but wanted to plug a few events. This Sunday I am playing the Cocomo stage at Decompression. Although many of your favorite sound camps aren't participating in the daytime event (ask me why if you want to know), Opulent Temple is still doing our annual after-party at Mighty. If you aren't going down to Indiana Street, save up your energy because we're getting started an hour earlier this year! Lastly, my 32nd lap around the sun is approaching faster than I can say "Uncle". I hope you will come celebrate with me at Masquerotica on Saturday, October 20th at the Concourse Exhibition Center; this will be the second year of having my birthday party here. I'll be playing alongside Stanton Warriors, Syd Gris and many other live acts and DJs. So don your finest fetish/burlesque fashions and let your inner (or outer) freak come out and play!
