Yo Yo Yo! The weekend is upon us again, this week flew by super fast - much like the entire month of January! Pretty soon it will be Burning Man season, and speaking of - I'm happy that I was one of the lottery winners for a ticket, but disappointed that many of my friends and OT camp members were not. I hope BMorg can sort out this fiasco and get tickets to deserving long-standing members of the burner community. Here is a very insightful article written by my friend, Steven T. Jones, about the situation.

Anyway, I've been a busy kitty this month with a big acquisition, working on music and training five days a week on getting in peak physical shape so I can dominate the Tough Mudder and Run For Your Lives (<--this one involves zombies) this year - YEAH! More importantly - tomorrow I'm putting on a show with Sunset Promotions & Rock It Science featuring the San Francisco debut of homey Peo De Pitte from London/Sweden. I've been wanting to get Peo out here for awhile now so needless to say, I'm super stoked about this show. It's going to be a fun, intimate setting at the Oddjob Loft upstairs at Public Works. You can still get $8 pre-sale tickets, get all the info here. Also, check out his interview with SF Station this week. Next Friday I return to Charlotte, NC after an 8 year hiatus and playing for DJ Frenzy's night at Kazba. If you've seen me play recently, I've been rocking Frenzy's dope Breaks edits of Adele and The Jets. Hope to see you in the bay tomorrow or the south next week!

If you missed it, last week I was featured on the Space Cowboys RIPEcast with my live set recording from Breakfast of Champions on New Year's Day.

And earlier this month, I posted my live set from Opulent Temple at Burning Man 2010. Please enjoy these mixes in your earholes!

All show info is below. Have an 1LL weekend - I hope to see you on the dancefloor! xxx

Hello my cowboys and girls! I hope your 2012 has gotten off to a great start. One month down, eleven more to go until the *end of the world! I have really enjoyed this month, taking a small step back from the nightlife to work on music, focus on my health and fitness, getting reacquainted with my snowboard and also dumping some "excess baggage" and cut more than a foot off of my luscious long hair! Ground_Control and I have been busy working on a new original, a remix for Deekline & Ed Solo and a dope bootleg of an old 90's classic; we plan to finish and debut all three by Winter Music Conference in March so stay tuned!

*end of the world not guaranteed

Now I would like to share some music for your earholes. This week I was featured on the Space Cowboys RIPEcast with my live set recording from Breakfast of Champions on New Year's Day. BOC is always an amazing time and each year tops the last in epicness, and now we can all relive it!

Also, if you missed it, earlier this month I posted my live set from Opulent Temple at Burning Man 2010. Please enjoy these mixes at your pleasure.

This Saturday I make my way back to the DJ booth where I belong at Me So Horny, a fundraiser for my favorite art car: the Dusty Rhino. The Rhino camp are a lovely group of people and have always been big supporters of me so I am happy to help their efforts to return to the playa every year.

Lastly, next Friday February 3rd, I'm putting on a show with homey crews Sunset Promotions & Rock It Science to bring you the debut of the man behind that sick remix of "Riverside" that you couldn't get out of your head if you tried, the swede with a thirst for sambuca: Peo De Pitte (UK)! We're doing a small show in an intimate setting upstairs at Public Works in the Oddjob Loft, you can still get $8 pre-sales - srsly don't miss this show!

All gig info is below. Have an 1LL weekend - I hope to see you on the dancefloor! xxx

ICONtact: New Year's Weekend & Year-End Review

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrintE-mail

Written by djicon Friday, 30 December 2011 01:48

Well, well, well... so another year has gone by. Just got back from my mini-Euro tour and was slammed by X-mas and New Year's immediately! Time sure flies when you're having fun, or just getting older it seems. I'm so very grateful that 2011 has been pretty epic for me in all areas of life: music, professional, personal. I've played some great gigs, went on amazing travels, put out a couple good releases, moved into a fabulous flat with my hunny, did some ground-breaking design and application work, been through a couple acquisitions, adopted another cute kitty, spent lots of quality time with family and friends, got back into top shape and of course... had the BEST Burning Man ever. This was just a short summary of the extremely busy year I've had. As I've gotten older, my priorities have changed, I've become less spontaneous and have become more conscious of the consequences of my actions. I've struggled to balance my music career with my professional life since leaving my freelance life for a "real" career two years ago - all in exchange for a better quality of life. The freelance was life was fun in my twenties; working, DJing, traveling and doing whatever whenever, but I lacked discipline and structure. Now that I have the structure but need to make more time for my musical and creative needs. Like anything, both careers take time and dedication... my New Year's resolution is to spend more time working on music and expressing myself through my music. This is the only way I will be truly balanced.

Now onto the festivities for the New Year's weekend! This is certainly the year for change, it's the first year I'm not DJing on New Year's Eve in many years. It's a strange sensation to not be obligated to be at a club or party a at a certain time so I'm considering my options for the night, I may not even end up at a party! I'm considering New Year's Day as my big day to celebrate the new year. I'm playing at the Space Cowboys' Breakfast of Champions block party for the fourth year in a row, it's always a blast and the best party of the year to see all your friends and local heroes at the same place at the same time. After that I am representing my Burning Man camp, Opulent Temple, at Day One: A 100% benefit for our 2012 10-year anniversary Burning Man efforts. It's only $5 pre-sale so I hope you plan on party-hopping because both parties will be awesome!

So all in all, this was a pretty epic year, I am forever grateful for all the blessings in my life and I look forward to 2012 being an even more epic year with all of you!

All gig info is below. Have an ILL weekend - I hope to see you on the dancefloor! xxx

Yeehaw cowboys and girls, 11.11.11 is finally here! We've all had almost two weeks to recover since the Halloween festivities so it's time to go BIG again with the Illeven Eleven crew. I for one, am stoked I no longer have to wear the same costume to multiple Halloween events... however AWESOME my Hello Kitty costume was! Hehe :) This weekend many artists from various cities around the world from our top charting label are occupying San Francisco and South Lake Tahoe to bring you two massive shows with a phenomenal line-up. It's just awesome to have everyone in the same place at the same time, the only other place this is even possible is WMC, but this will be much much better! Just to give you an idea of how huge this is, here is a breakdown where we are all coming from: Hatiras (Toronto), Deekline (London), Keith Mackenzie (Chicago), DJ Fixx (Tampa), DJ Hero (Denver), Sporty-O (Atlanta), Whiskey Pete & Sue Cho (Los Angeles), me (San Francisco), Ill DJ Chris B & Flurk (Orlando), Nimbus (Detroit), Loki (Salt Lake City). We have worldwide representation! Tonight we are celebrating this special day with a big party at Public Works in San Francisco, it's literally a once in a century event some come down and join the ruckus! Tomorrow we are all hopping in a van and driving to South Lake Tahoe for round 2 - The Sound of ILL at Blu Nightclub. I can already tell that this will be a jam-packed weekend with very little sleep!

All gig info is below. Have an ILLtastic weekend - I hope to see you on the dancefloor! xxx
